Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the United Architects of the Philippines has postponed its 46th Annual National Convention and Convention Exhibition (CONEX) 2020. This year's national activity was originally scheduled to take place on April 23-25, 2020 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City, but it has now been postponed until further notice.

Here is the statement from UAP National President, Arch. Benjamin K. Panganiban, Jr.:

Fellow architects,

In my nearly two years in office, I have learned that the ear of the leader must ring with the voices of the people. In numerous circumstances, I also learned that leaders should endeavor to listen to gain understanding, for listening helps us not to instantly jump to conclusions. Listening gives us opportunity to pray for wisdom; listening allows us to ask good questions for further clarity; and listening prevents us from reacting and saying something we will regret. Bottom line—when a leader listens, the team gets better.

Due to the extraordinary circumstances surrounding the worldwide Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and with the recent Presidential declaration of Luzon-wide "Enhanced Community Quarantine" including the State of Calamity in the entire archipelago, and after attentively listening from a series of intense conversation with the Board, Execom, Organizing Committees and Stakeholders, I am announcing the postponement of the 46th UAP National Convention and CONEX 2020 which was previously scheduled on April 23-25, 2020 to an indefinite later date.

I understand that this decision will create challenges for the National Board, the organizing committees, our stakeholders and our UAP members in general. But this pandemic has created unprecedented circumstances making this action prudent and necessary. As I have stressed in my earlier statement, the safety, health and wellbeing of our colleagues is our focus at this extraordinary time.

For many of you, this decision we are taking to protect the health and safety of everyone may involve significant inconvenience and personal sacrifice. However, in this uncertain moment, I have every confidence in our ability to pull together with kindness, care and concern for the common good.

Please accept my gratitude in advance for your goodwill and understanding.

We are UAP...We are  UNITED in rallying together to handle this unprecedented situation.

Marami pong salamat sa inyong lahat!
