UAP North Davao Chapter turns 11

THE UNITED Architects of the Philippines-North Davao Chapter marked another milestone as it successfully celebrated its 11th charter anniversary last Oct. 11 to Nov. 5, 2017 with the theme, “Celebrating the Past for a Dynamic Future.”

The three-week celebration kicked off with an educational outreach program spearheaded by Chapter President Artemio Ian Collo and Vice President Galio Palmera, which was aimed to help enrich the technical knowledge of our youths. The architects conducted free autocad training for the junior high school students of Dujali National High School in Dujali, Davao del Norte on Oct. 11-13.

To further drum up the celebration, a motorcade was held on Oct. 24 around the major thoroughfares of Tagum City. The caravan ended at the Robison’s Place Tagum, where the UAP North Davao architecture exhibit was staged. Special guest during the opening of exhibits and cutting of ribbon were Panabo City Vice Mayor Janrey Gavina and Tagum City Councilor Joedel Caasi. The exhibit ran until Nov. 5.

Coinciding with the architecture exhibit, a free architectural consultation was also conducted at the Robinson’s Place Tagum. This activity served as a venue for people in the shopping mall can consult with the architects for free on matters regarding house renovation, repair, design and other related concerns.

A highlight of the celebration was the first-ever chapter sportsfest held at the Panabo City gymnasium on Oct. 29, 2017. The whole day affair gave the chapter members a great opportunity to bond with each other through friendly competition in sports. Among the events the architects competed in were basketball, volleyball, chess and Pinoy Games.

UAP North Davao Chapter was chartered on Oct. 7, 2006. It was formed to cater to architects in the provinces north of Davao City, namely Davao del Norte, Compostela Valley, and Davao Oriental, and to promote the architecture profession in these areas, as well.
