The First UAP Media Forum kicks off on Feb 18

The first UAP Media Forum, initiated by the Office of the National President, will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the 6th Floor of the UAP National Headquarters Building in Quezon City.

Dubbed as "Kapihan ng Arkitekto", this serves as a monthly gathering of the UAP officers and brand partners with various media practitioners representing print, broadcast, and digital media covering the builds and design beat . It aims to engage the media in discussions about the state of Philippine architecture and the issues that concern builds and design in the country.

In line with the #GetAnArchitect advocacy campaign of the current leadership, UAP National President said that the intents of this forum are to promote UAP’s campaign on promoting the architecture profession through engaging conversation with the media, regularly update the media on its current campaign and CSR Programs and tackle the pressing issues UAP want to shed light on, build friendly ties with the media and open opportunities on future collaboration, for UAP to be recognized by media practitioners and entities as top-of-the-mind source of information for concerns about Philippine architecture and other issues such as buildings and design that are relevant to Filipino public, and to introduce UAP brand partners to the media.

The #GetAnArchitect advocacy program was designed as a long-term effort of the UAP to develop diverse initiatives to promote the architecture profession, highlight the spirit of our profession in an informative and memorable way and encourage the public to advocate for safer, healthier, accessible homes, businesses, and communities. UAP National President stressed that "#GetAnArchitect came into fruition to seek out opportunities to engage and communicate with the public and stakeholders and teach them how we work with them, design solutions, transform communities, and strengthen society. The advocacy is built around the idea that we can influence what our listeners hear, believe, and remember about architects and architecture, hence, the creation of this UAP Media Forum".

The advocacy campaign was honored in the recent Ang Susi Awards 2019 by the Philippine Council of Associations and Association Executives (PCAAE), dubbed as an “association of associations” during the 7th PCAAE’s Association Summit held on Nov. 27, 2019 at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.

Highlights of the forum will be posted at the UAP Keeping You Posted FB Page.
