TEAM NEVP claims 1st UAP Bowling Tournament Championship

In thrilling fashion, TEAM NEVP, with a total of pinfall point of 4,750, won the 1st UAP Bowling Tournament Championship (Mancom-Secretariat), overcoming three very strong opponents. TEAM NEVP defeated the perennial favorite TEAM NP, in the first-ever bowling tournament of the United Architects of the Philippines to capture the title. Nine set of games were tense, see-saw battles with the games' final outcome being decided on the games' last ball. 

The tournament was held at E-LANES Bowling Center on November 13, 21 and December 5, 2018.

The format of the tournament is Baker Style, comprised of seven-person teams. The Baker Format, also known as the Bakers Format or Baker System, is a method of scoring competition bowling which places emphasis on the team effort rather than the accomplishments of the individual players. Each participant bowls two frames per game. All teams bowl ten games, with the top five total pin scores were added to get the total scores of the team per game.

The 1st UAP Bowling Tournament consisted of four teams. Known as the BLUE Team, with a total pinfall points of 4,651, TEAM NP players include Arch. Benjamin K. Panganiban, Jr., UAP National President (1115), Alex Subion (553), Ric-Ric Alivia (1020), Catherine Malicdem (700), Ivy Joyce Santiago (502), Zyra Mae Baguis (739), and  Marvin Oliva (925). TEAM NEVP players, carrying the GREEN color theme include Arch. Rey S. Gabitan, UAP National Executive Vice President (1165), Jaze Aban (738), Christopher Villa (898), Ruel Lantano (827), Eliza Moreno (284), Jenny Abanto (895), and Ernesto Sanchez (917). Yellow is the TEAM NT’s color with the players include Arch. Wilfredo G. Gacutan, UAP National Treasurer (932), Antonio Gutierrez (903), Alma Valencia (1094), Roxanne Acibar (458), Evelyn Parayaoan (629), Jinky Ramos (927) and Joanne Espanola (753). TEAM SG carried the RED color with players include Arch. Ronnie R. Yumang, UAP Secretary General (179), Richard Dedil (956), Rene Bello (888),  Marcialito Cuevas (834), Jose Franco Santia (690), and Ma. Amadelle Enriquez (509).

Top 10 highest scorers include NEVP Rey Gabitan with 1165 points; NP Benjamin Panganiban, 1115; Alma Valencia, 1094; Ric-Ric Alivia, 1020; Richard Dedil, 956; NT Wilfredo Gacutan, 932; Jinky Ramos, 927; Marvin Oliva, 925; Ernesto Sanchez, 917; and Antonio Gutierrez, 903.
