Re : PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE 2009 UAP BY-LAWS

Dear Colleagues:

Greetings!

Following last Fiscal Year administration’s commitment to update the 2009 UAP By-laws and the various comments and suggestions provided and collated by the Committee on By-laws from various chapters who responded, the present leadership deems it necessary to amend some of the provisions of the 2009 By-Laws primarily owing to them being ambiguous and unresponsive to the needs of time and to meet the organization’s needs, reflect the changing times, and address concerns or vital elements which had not been anticipated in our existing by-laws.

The Committee on By-laws presented the proposed amendments to the General Assembly during the National Conference of Architects 2019 held on October 18, 2019 at Carpenter’s Hill, Koronadal City, South Cotabato. Relative to this, all UAP Chapter Presidents are hereby enjoined to call for a Chapter General Membership Meeting to discuss and decide on a chapter consensus on whether the Chapter accepts or rejects the proposed amendments, as attached herewith. This is in compliance with the UAP By-laws specifically Article XV(1)(c), to wit:

“Each Chapter President shall call for a Chapter General Membership Meeting to discuss the proposals. The results shall be presented to the Chapter Presidents’ Assembly. Its consensus shall then be endorsed to the National Board of Directors for its approval.”

Chapters are requested to submit the Secretary’s Certificate (in hard copy, template attached) on or before March 28, 2020 to the Office of the Secretary General, including all the attached documents/requirements.
