CLARKCON 2018 Construction Exhibit & Trade Show + CLARKCON Talks CPD Seminars.

A 3-day event was hosted by the United Architects of the Philippines-Clark Chapter, held at SM City Clark, Pampanga on November 30 to December 2, 2018. UAP Clark is one of the youngest professional organization of architects in Pampanga pioneering to host a world-class event program for the construction, furniture and arts industry, which is held during the celebration of the National Architecture Week with the theme PanaNAW: Visions of the Future Filipino Architecture.

This event showcases products and services by our business industry partners in architecture design, and construction as well as different related sectors from the government, academe, furniture manufacturing and the arts. Exhibitors who participated for this year’s show were UAP National President Benjamin K. Panganiban, Jr., FUAP, APEC Ar., AA, FRIA together with the UAP Area A National Executive Vice President Rosario Q. Roxas, FUAP graced the show in the morning sending their warmest congratulations to UAP Clark. Once again this is an effort to support the current corporate advocacy campaign to promote the architecture profession.

The Opening Ceremony was with the presence of prominent guests along with the UAP Clark membership and officers. The program was presented by Mr. Edsel Dela Cruz, official emcee for the event. Engr. Ryan S. Galura of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), on behalf of Project Manager for SCTEX Services Department & New Clark City Project Management Office, Engr. Joshua M. Bingcang spoke about the developments on the New Clark City, followed by the Mabalacat City Mayor representative to Hon. Crisostomo C. Garbo, also delivered a very important speech and message to the audience and participants. Part of the program was the ribbon-cutting ceremony by the UAP Clark Chapter, Ar. Emmanuel Soriano, the Immediate Past President of UAP Clark Chapter, Lalaine Dela Cruz, CLARKCON organizing Committee, UAP Clark members and officers, distinguished guests and participants. “We never thought it would go this far considering we barely had two months to put all things together for the Clarkcon. It was very challenging to sacrifice our personal time just to put up an exhibit like this, but pretty much rewarding for everyone involved and the UAP Clark membership. This year’s Clarkcon marks another success history!”, said the UAP Clark President, Ar. Emmanuel “Manny” Soriano. Meanwhile, the UAP Clark IPP, Ar. Lalaine Dela Cruz was in awe of the very efficient work executed by the Clarkcon committee. She shared with much pride “I admire the talents and persistence that this batch of organizing group have proven. Truly Clarkcon is now being looked forward by the suppliers and industry partners as well as members of other UAP chapters. It felt great to see this event evolve and succeed, having been a young and small chapter in Pampanga.”

ClarkCon Talks is a series of the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) seminars in line with the National Architecture Week’s theme delivered by influential and inspiring leaders in the architecture industry as resource speakers attended by architects and guests. First to give a talk was the UAP District A2B Director, Ar. Raymond T. Co, UAP on topic about “Introduction to Traffic Impact Assessment for Architects”. Second to deliver the lecture was from the host chapter Ar. Normandy C. Canlas, UAP, AA, SFRIA, on “Design-Build Services”. Lastly, Ar. Annie C. Pugeda, FUAP lectured on “Integrating Feng Shui in Basic Architecture”. “It was indeed another successful CPD seminar participated by architects who registered and gathered, and the topics were interesting,” said ClarkCon Talks Director Ar. Nina Reanne G. Maiquez, UAP together with her committee members. The PRC representative monitor who observed the seminar was Ar. Peter John Resurreccion, UAP.

This event was also supported by the AUF-UAPSA and the UAPGA Baguio chapter. Raffle items from the sponsors were given out to the audience. Grocery packs and other freebies were given out by the UAP Clark to the winners.
